What’s My Line?

Ever see a beautiful quilt top diminished by the quilting design or better yet an average quilt top greatly enhanced through quilt line choices. Whether you are a 'topper' or a quilter, basic design principles will help you plan your next project. This is not too serious but a lighthearted look at what to do!

A Painters Path To Quilting!

This title sounds pretty straightforward but Patt says she’s not that mentally tidy! Patt proclaims to be in constant battle between left and right brain, and says “that’s not all bad as it keeps a minute amount of order in an otherwise fiber scrappy lifestyle.” Patt says that’s a nice way of saying she’s messy.

Having begun her art path painting oils, then watercolors, Patt’s quilting art focuses largely on life images.. especially the simple ones she says… the ones with heartwarming or powerful messages. Most of Patt’s work includes a being with a heartbeat. She says: “It seems to give life to the work.”

This lecture includes slides and samples of Patt’s pathway into art quilting. Patt addresses the application of traditional art media into quilting, new materials developed for quilting, tips and examples of machine quilting techniques that support the message in the quilt top, and finally, some ways to finish and hang quilts intended for wall display.

Patt also says “I might tell a corny joke or two. It’s my disease!”

Lecture Fee $325.00 for a one-hour lecture in conjunction with workshop.
$375 for one hour lecture without a workshop.

Painting on Fabric with Inks

Patts ready to go drawing options You will be amazed at what you can create using these flexible and easy-to-use pigment inks made by Tsukineko of Japan. These permanent inks are used to enhance commercial fabrics or to create an original art piece painted on clean white fabric.

Special fiber stick applicators make painting much simpler than traditional brushing techniques. Students are delightfully amazed and proud of their creations.

Paint a landscape, still life, or animal using TSUKINEKO Fabric Inks and special stick applicators. Bring your own artwork or choose from Patt's drawings. You’ll love these inks.. They are surprisingly easy to use… It’s like crayons for grown ups.!
